Interfacing to a production machine's PLC allows for reading the PLC's stored data, and providing HMI synchronization for redundant part verification.

SPEDE Component Traceability tracks purchased and internally produced component lots through processing and assembly, and ties the End Item Lot to all lots involved upstream. It allows for a single container to have multiple lot codes, as when partial containers are combined. 


You can use a handheld or vehicle-mount scanner to:

  1. Create a SPEDE B.O.M. 
  2. Receive raw /purchased components
  3. Issue to Line/ Operation
  4. Return to stock
  5. Track Components by Lot tied to the Container serial number
  6. Query lots forward and backward

WIP Operations Traceability ensures WIP units are routed in correct sequence, creating traceability

WIP Operations Traceability tracks and controls the flow of serialized WIP containers to ensure the correct sequencing of operations is followed. SPEDE checks the correctness of the serialized container/ part number when issued to an Operation to prevent sequencing errors, while creating traceability and providing real-time visibility of all WIP at any given point in time. 


Functions include:

  1. Routing by WIP/FIN part number
  2. Identifies Purchased, Produced, and Component parts used at each operation 
  3. Tracks recycles/re-starts
  4. Optional tracking through "blind" processes such as plating, painting, etc.

Vision sensors for Parts inspection/ validation/ counting/ traceability

Vision sensors installed at the end of production and in pack and re-pack areas prevent errors in identifying, counting and packing parts. 


SPEDE vision solutions do not require a PLC, which means they can be installed in Pack and Re-pack areas in addition to line-side. 


SPEDE Vision solutions include:

SPEDE lineside labeling solutions use input from PLCs, scales, vision sensors and/or USB cameras at packing areas to ensure the part number and pack count are correct before triggering a container label to print. 


Highlights include:

  1. Sourcing label data from host ERP, EDI, RAS
  2. Time-stamp and logging of printed label data in an SQL DB for inventory tracking, shipping, OEE analysis, auditability
  3. Backward /Forward item traceability
  4. Detailed audit trail of all transactions

SPEDE Automated Solutions interface to weigh scales for error-proof parts counting/packing/labeling

Weigh scales can be interfaced to PLCs to count parts by weight, and/or at the packaging line to calculate the number of parts being packed into a container. 


When the total count of parts, based on individual piece weight and an allowance for tare weight is correct, a container label will automatically print.

Your operators can view and monitor the real-time completion status of today's releases, in order to know which parts to build to meet today's schedules. 


A red/ yellow/ green status code indicates whether more parts are needed, or if it's time for a changeover for the next part.

SPEDE Technologies uses USB cameras to validate and count parts for error-proof packing of dunnage

Inexpensive USB cameras can be used in place of vision sensors to prevent errors in packing containers of parts. These cameras can recognize 2D and 3D shapes, colors, barcodes, and OCR text on labels from overseas.


Cameras validate the correctness of the part being packed, and ensure all slots in a dunnage layer are filled before the next layer can begin.  


Optional video of each filled layer provides proof the container was packed correctly, should a customer inquiry arise.

WIP Container Tracking. SPEDE uses Bluetooth beacons to track each WIP container in production

A small Bluetooth Beacon can be attached to WIP containers of parts to automatically record their movement. When a container movement is detected, the Beacon transmits its ID to SPEDE and the SPEDE Locator App is updated.

SPEDE Coil Locator System uses Bluetooth Beacons to track Coils by ID; automate picking, shipping

 A small Bluetooth Beacon can be attached to large singular items such as steel coils, to automatically record their movement. The Beacon wakes up and transmits its ID to SPEDE when coil movement is detected, and the SPEDE Locator App is updated.
