For vision sensor solutions, SPEDE uses Keyence vision sensors to prevent errors in identifying, counting and packing finished parts. 

SPEDE vision sensor solutions include:

• part validation
• scrap detection / diverting scrap via conveyor interface

As an alternative to vision sensors, SPEDE Vision solutions can also use off-the-shelf USB cameras for: 

1. Part verification

4. Reading 1D, 2D barcode
5. OCR - characters / text on parts /labels
6. Controlling sequence of filling dunnage layers
7. Verifying dunnage slots are filled correctly
8. Verifying pack count

The SPEDE Steel Coil Locator System can use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons to uniquely identify steel coils and WIP containers to automate location tracking and traceability. 

The Coil Locator app automatically records the coil's location when the item is moved, so there is no need to manually search for specific coils. In addition, SPEDE can confirm the correct coil ID is being picked, and automates the Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Shipping and Physical Count operations. 

Barely larger than a U.S. quarter, the beacon can be attached via magnet to the coil or container. Each beacon has a unique ID, which SPEDE associates with the Item ID in the SPEDE Locator App. When the coil is moved, the beacon "wakes up" and transmits its ID to the SPEDE Locator app. SPEDE records the move and updates the location.
